Agility Robotics’ next humanoid robot is designed to spend more of the day moving goods and less time plugged into a charger. The company has selected Nyobolt’s battery technology for Digit 5, targeting more than 20 hours of productive work within a 24-hour day.The new system is designed to deliver 90 minutes of runtime from a nine-minute recharge. Early access to robots equipped with the technology is expected in the first half of 2027, serving manufacturing, warehouse and distribution operators. The battery upgrade addresses a practical challenge for commercial humanoids: keeping robots working long enough to make deployment worthwhile while limiting interruptions for charging.Nine minutes to rechargeDigit 5’s battery system delivers a planned 10:1 run-to-charge ratio, compared with Digit 4’s 2:1 ratio.

That means the newer robot is designed to operate for 10 minutes for every minute spent charging.Agility says the improvement could support more than two full shifts of work each day, helping customers increase utilization across their robot fleets.“For our customers, Digit’s uptime is the business case,” said Daniel Diez, Chief Business Officer of Agility Robotics.“Digit 5 will deliver more than 20 hours of productive work in a 24-hour day, more than two full shifts.

That’s the kind of gain that materially improves the value customers get from Digit and the economics of deploying a humanoid robot fleet,” he added. “Nyobolt’s ultra-fast charging technology gets us there, and it’s one of the pieces that makes Digit 5 ready for full-scale operation,” Diez said.Smaller packs, demanding conditionsNyobolt’s high-power battery technology combines rapid charging with a design focused on cycle life and reduced system weight.

For Digit 5, the aim is to supply

For Digit 5, the aim is to supply more power from a smaller, lighter battery pack while meeting the demands of industrial environments.“Nyobolt’s technology was chosen because Digit 5 will need more power from a smaller, lighter pack, in environments where reliability isn’t optional,” said Sai Shivareddy, co-founder and CEO at Nyobolt.“Agility set an exceptionally high bar for what a battery has to withstand in live warehouse and manufacturing environments, and this partnership shows what’s possible when ultra-fast charging is engineered for the toughest conditions in physical AI,” he added.

The companies position shorter charging stops as a way to support longer operating windows and more demanding task sequences. The announcement does not specify battery capacity or provide a numerical cycle-life rating.Early access targets 2027Agility recently introduced Digit 5 as its first humanoid designed for cooperatively safe work at scale, allowing operation in close proximity to people.Following the initial early-access rollout in the first half of 2027, availability is expected to increase over the next six to nine months.Agility is also preparing to go public through its previously announced combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the combined company operating as Agility Robotics and trading on Nasdaq under “AGLT.”For customers, the planned rollout is the next step toward putting Digit 5’s battery performance to work in commercial operations.
