Elsevier signed a strategic content agreement with the JAMA Network on October 7, 2026, adding full-text content and visuals from 13 JAMA Network Family of Journals titles to ClinicalKey AI, its clinical grade AI workspace. The JAMA Network content is available to ClinicalKey AI customers.

Agreement Covers 13 JAMA Network Journals

The agreement covers all published full-text content and visuals from the 13 titles, which will inform the answers clinicians receive through ClinicalKey AI. The group consists of JAMA, JAMA Network Open and 11 specialty journals: JAMA Cardiology, JAMA Dermatology, JAMA Health Forum, JAMA Internal Medicine, JAMA Neurology, JAMA Oncology, JAMA Ophthalmology, JAMA Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery, JAMA Pediatrics, JAMA Psychiatry and JAMA Surgery.

Elsevier said the new titles deepen a content collection that already spans leading journals and medical society publications worldwide, and that the collection provides clinicians full-text access to more than half of the world’s top 100 medical journals.

    Platform Design and Health-System Capabilities

Elsevier describes ClinicalKey AI as deployed by health systems that require credible content, precision AI and enterprise-grade technology. The company frames the product around a gap it says clinicians face: growing volumes of published evidence and reduced time in which to apply clinical insights. Elsevier said the workspace is designed to close that gap by grounding every answer in peer-reviewed, evidence-basedbehind it

Access to JAMA Network journals and other evidence-based information is delivered securely and compliantly through API-based integration options compatible with existing workflow tools and support for HIPAA-compliant use in North America, with privacy and security controls built to help protect patient health information. The company also lists a new deep research assistant for deeper investigation of clinical topics, plus multi-language support and prompt sharing

    Executive Statements

Omry Bigger, President, Clinical Solutions, Elsevier, said in the announcement: “Clinicians tell us that trust is the deciding factor in whether they will use AI at the point of care. This strategic content agreement with the JAMA Network means that when a clinician uses ClinicalKey AI, the answer can draw on many years of prestigious evidence-based content from JAMA journals without compromising privacy and security. We look forward to our strong collaboration with the JAMA Network and bringing the best insights and clinical content directly into the hands of clinicians at the point of care.”

Brian Shields, Group Vice President and Publisher of JAMA and the JAMA Network, said research published across the JAMA Network is intended to help inform clinical decisions in bedside, clinic and exam-room settings. He said working with Elsevier extends the reach of that evidence, with the full article behind each answer, including the study, its methods and its context, accessible to clinicians directly.

    Wellsheet Acquisition and Existing Footprint

The October agreement follows Elsevier’s June 3, 2026 announcement that it had acquired Wellsheet, a US-based health technology company whose software aggregates and synthesizes patient data from electronic health records to surface clinical intelligence at the point of care. At the time of that announcement, Wellsheet was deployed across 139 hospital sites in the US and integrated into major EHR systems. Elsevier said Wellsheet would be integrated into its Clinical Solutions business, which covers building clinical competencies, supporting informed clinical decisions and providing patient engagement solutions built on evidence-based information.

Elsevier said the pairing of Wellsheet’s validated EHR data model with ClinicalKey AI’s peer-reviewed evidence base is intended to give clinicians verified, patient-specific guidance within their existing workflows.

In the June release, Elsevier described ClinicalKey AI as a clinical decision support solution providing full-text content and clinical practice guidelines from more than 1,000 medical journals and organizations, and said the product was in use in more than 300 hospitals worldwide. Content named at the time included The Lancet series, Chest, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Journal of Thoracic Oncology and American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, together with guidelines from organizations including the American College of Cardiology, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the European Society for Medical Oncology, the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Gastroenterological Association.

Elsevier said that following the Wellsheet acquisition, ClinicalKey AI will offer deeper integration into hospital systems’ electronic health records to deliver patient context and trusted clinical information to clinicians, a capability the company lists as coming soon.
