Agentic data security company Sentra today announced raising $150 million in a Series C funding round that brings the total raised by the company to over $260 million.
The fresh investment round was led by Capital One Ventures, with additional support from previous investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Key1 Capital, Munich Re Ventures, Standard Investments, and Zeev Ventures.
Founded in 2021 and co-headquartered in New York City and Tel Aviv, Sentra has built an AI-powered, cloud-native platform that provides data security and governance, and AI data readiness.
The solution protects data at rest across cloud, SaaS, data warehouses, knowledge stores, and on-premises file shares, governing both the data and the access agents need.
Sentra finds and classifies data across environments, maps assets reachable by users, AI agents, and service accounts, and enforces least privilege policies while eliminating the high-risk data agents should not find.
The platform flags unusual access to sensitive data, revoking access and blocking the risk through automated remediation. It also provides detailed reports on what the agent could have reached, with business context.
Sentra will use the new funding to accelerate its agentic data security capabilities and provide broad visibility into AI and the data it reaches, continuous least privilege enforcement for all identities, data protection, and rapid containment.
Additionally, it plans to expand its go-to-market organization, grow brand and marketing teams, and expand to new regions.
“Traditional perimeter controls weren’t built for agents moving at machine speed. What organizations can do is make sure the data those agents reach is already secured. Sentra protects data where it lives and controls which identities, human and AI, can reach it, so organizations can deploy AI more quickly while staying in control,” said Sentra co-founder and CEO Yoav Regev.
