Sharjah24: Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) is introducing a special promotional offer for technology startups during the Sharjah Next – Sustainability 2026 Forum, taking place on 28–29 October.
The offer provides founders and innovators with an opportunity to establish their businesses in Sharjah through preferential licensing packages, within an ecosystem that connects scientific research with technology, industry and investment, helping transform ideas from the laboratory into market-ready solutions.
The initiative reflects SPARK’s commitment to strengthening Sharjah’s position as a destination for technology-driven and knowledge-based businesses, while creating practical pathways for entrepreneurs to turn innovation into viable ventures with the potential to grow and scale.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, said: “Building a knowledge-based economy begins with empowering innovators and providing them with the right environment to turn ideas into businesses capable of growing and competing internationally. Through this initiative, we aim to simplify the first steps for technology startups and connect them with an integrated ecosystem spanning scientific research, universities, industry and investment. Our ambition is for Sharjah to serve as a launchpad for companies developing solutions to future challenges, supporting their journey from initial concept to commercial application and, ultimately, to wider markets.”
The offer features two preferential packages. The Beyond package starts at AED 1,500 for the first year and includes one shareholder and one business activity. The Beyond Plus package starts at AED 3,010 for the first year and accommodates up to three shareholders and three business activities, with visa options available according to the company’s requirements, eligibility and applicable fees. Access to the preferential rates is subject to eligibility criteria and the programme’s applicable conditions.
The offer targets startups and technology ventures operating across five key sectors: sustainability, advanced manufacturing, mobility and logistics, healthcare, and artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Relevant areas include renewable energy, the circular economy, water technologies, robotics, industrial automation, smart mobility, health technologies, artificial intelligence, data analytics and digital solutions.
Establishing a business at SPARK offers access to an ecosystem connected to the universities and research talent of Sharjah’s University City, opportunities for collaboration with industry, and networks of investors and business partners. The Park also provides an environment that supports technology testing, prototype development and the infrastructure required for companies to advance their innovations. Foreign founders may also be eligible for 100% ownership, subject to the applicable regulatory framework and requirements.
The startup innovation zone at the forum will put this approach into practice through a streamlined customer journey. Interested entrepreneurs can learn about the ecosystem, check their eligibility, and begin their licensing application and payment process during the event. Compliance checks, name approval, registration and final licence issuance will follow after the forum, in accordance with the applicable procedures.
Through this initiative, SPARK reinforces its role as a platform connecting innovation with business opportunities and helping technology companies progress from research and early-stage ideas to establishment, development and growth.
SPARK invites entrepreneurs, innovators and technology startup founders looking to establish or expand their businesses to visit the startup innovation zone during Sharjah Next – Sustainability 2026 on 28–29 October. Visitors can explore the available packages, check their eligibility and learn more about joining Sharjah’s innovation ecosystem.
